ChillOut Community & Services

An event such as the ChillOut Festival simply does not manifest itself by waving a magic wand. There are so many community groups, local businesses and organisations that help out each year behind the scenes to get this party started and ensure it’s all smooth sailing ‘til home time. We love each and every one of them and want to give them a big shout out so they’re feelin it!

First of all.. Fells Electrical.. If you ever need a sparkie to rewire your home or just untangle your Christmas lights perhaps? Fells can help. Ballarat Roller Derby League, skates on girls! Hosts of the ChillOut Bout featuring the Daylesford Derby Dolls… Roll On! Gaydar.com.au – THE social networking/dating for our community with over 6million members worldwide (!!) Get clicking peeps!

And if you do happen to meet that special someone on Gaydar…You’re going to need a ceremony with the lot. Special Touch Wedding & Event Services love a good commitment ceremony, but hey, if it’s just a short term thing, that’s ok too, Special Touch do schmancy dinners, surprises, and super special occasions too. Gillian Murray civil celebrant nails all the important ceremonies in your life. Give Gillian a call for personal, heartfelt, and moving celebrations. Nelephant Productions specialise in creating memorable and innovative events of all types, and music? Boy can she find the perfect band for your next celebration! You’ll need food at this event too (it’s sounding good yeah? Can we come?) Spade to Blade catering provides delish catering for 15 to 1500 of your nearest and dearest using the most amazing organic and seasonal produce from around the region. And if it’s a match made in heaven for ever and ever, you’ll need a retirement home… (See! Thinking of everything here…) Linton Estate is the first GLBTIQ retirement haven of its type. Just down the road in Ballan, it won the 2010 Australasian over 50s housing award for the best special development plan. Nice!

For health and family issues help is close at hand for our community. Springs Medical Centre in Daylesford and Trentham is committed to offering personal, family and community health care. Child and Family Services (CAFS) in Ballarat provide a full range of services to children, young people and families who are vulnerable or in need of support. In Bendigo, the Country Awareness Network (CAN) provides info, education, support and other services to regional Victorian communities regarding HIV, hepatitis and sexual health. Also based out of Bendigo, Take Care OutBack There supports LGBTQ communities to embrace and maintain a safer sex culture. Uniting Care Cutting Edge in Shepparton is home to several wonderful groups, due to the explosion of acronyms they collectively call themselves the Diversity Group, which includes ‘SSAGQ’ young person’s social support, Goulburn Valley Pride (GLBTIQ & Allies Social group) and PFLAG chapter and Uniting Network Australia – which is a Uniting Church group. And down near Highpoint in Melbourne is Hampstead Dental for caring dentistry and a beautiful smile. (Smilin’ right backatcha Hampstead!)

The Daylesford Hepburn community are pretty forward thinking when it comes to many things, and sustainability is one of them. You might’ve noticed our wind turbines as you whizzed up the highway? Gusto & Gale (as they are affectionately known) were built by Hepburn Wind, members of the local community and Victoria’s only community owned wind farm, and Long Grass Projects is an excellent little business, delivering sustainable events in the community, arts, food, wine and corporate sectors.

So do you love it so much you want to live here? – Come on… be honest, you trawled the real estate windows didn’t you?! (Busted!) Give Hocking Stuart Daylesford a call if you’re dreaming of a 3460 or 3461 postcode. We’ll all welcome you with open arms.

The businesses and community services we have linked to on this page are ChillOut supporters. We encourage you to support the businesses that support ChillOut.
